History

history.jpgJohn Hall is a well known name among locals in Lyons Colorado, mainly because of Hall Ranch, one of Colorado's beautifully preserved open spaces parks in the area. John Hall came to this area in 1882 and homesteaded and planted apple orchards in the well known Apple Valley area, just as you leave Lyons on your way to Estes Park. He moved to the site where Rock 'n River now stands in 1890. The Potato cellar Hall built behind the main buildings of the Inn still stands today and has now become the aging grotto. The current owners of this 18 acre parcel, Dick and Mary Lou Gibson, have for 9 years added their own personal touches,. The beautiful grounds provide lush gardens and ponds that will long be remembered by guests. Our picnic grounds entice you from the wine room to enjoy the beauty of Colorado at its best.
